Midlanders To Pay More For Solid Waste 9/26/12

MIDLAND, TX – Tall City leaders have approved a $.50 fee increase for solid waste. Midland City Council approved a mandatory $1.00 litter abatement fee by a 5-1 vote. Prior to this, Midlanders were required to pay a $,50 litter abatement fee and could pay a voluntary $.50 recycling fee, however City leaders decided to combine the two fees and make it mandatory. According to Solid Waste officials, the increase will allow the City to continue operating beautification and recycling programs.
