Still Sunny In West Texas 09/24/12
Monday Morning Weather Update
Greg Morgan – Chief Meteorologist
Little change is expected in the forecast today and tomorrow. Temperatures will top out in the lower 90’s across much of the Permian Basin. Skies will remain mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Winds will be out of the south at 10-20mph.
A dryline will sharpen up across the western parts of West Texas and SE New Mexico on Wednesday afternoon. Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across the western half of the area near this boundary.
Temperatures will drop and rain chances will increase on Thursday. Moisture from Hurricane Miriam will stream NE across West Texas. At the same time, an upper level low pressure system will drop out of the Rockies and move across our region. Some of the rain associated with this weather pattern could be heavy, given the extreme amount of tropical moisture that will be in place.
