Much Cooler Today 09/18/12
Tuesday Morning Weather Update
Greg Morgan – Chief Meteorologist
After a cool and rainy start to the day, expect dry conditions this afternoon. While temperatures will not be as warm as yesterday, they will not be as cool as they were this weekend. Expect highs in the lower to mid 80’s for most. A few locations in the Permian Basin, SE New Mexico and the mountains will only see highs in the 70’s. Strong north winds this morning will shift to the east and die down as the cold front responsible moves south and east, away from the area.
High pressure will settle into the region over the next few days. This will bring a return of sunny skies and warmer temperatures. Look for highs in the upper 80’s on Wednesday and lower 90’s on Thursday and Friday.
A weak cold front will drop into the area on Friday night. This will knock highs down into the 80’s this weekend. However, little rain can be expected.
