'Bark in the Park' Raises Alzheimer's Awareness
Changes Coming to Pecos Zoo, Cost Raised To More Than $100,000 9/16/12
PECOS, TX - The city of Pecos will swap "land animals" for fish at Maxey Park.
Council members voted in their most recent meeting to close the Maxey Park Zoo.
They also discussed bringing in a fishpond to replace the zoo. Council members were told earlier this year that new federal requirements would raise the cost of maintaining the zoo to more than $100, 000.
