On Monday night, officers with the Odessa Police Department responded to a call of an accident at the Tejas Shooting Sports located at 421 East 8th Street. Upon arrival officers discovered a white F250 pick-up had collided into the building of Tejas Shooting Sports. A witness that drove up on the scene reported to officers that she saw a male run from the scene north bound on Tom Green. A check of the vehicle revealed it had been reported stolen through the Ector County Sheriff’s Office.
The owner of the business was summoned to the scene to assess the damage and to conduct an inventory of their merchandise. The store suffered extensive damage estimated at over $15,000 dollars. Investigators with the Property Unit were assigned this case and during their investigation, discovered this was not an accident but a burglary. The store video showed three males exiting the vehicle, entering the business and grabbing several weapons as they left the store.
At least two rifles, estimated at $1,150.00 were reported stolen. The suspects were all wearing masks. Anyone with information about this incident or the identity of the suspects involved are asked to notify the Odessa Police Department at 432-333-3641 or Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS.
