Odessa Police Department
Press Release
September 10, 2012

An Odessa man has been arrested in connection with a weekend robbery at the Boost Mobile located at 4243 North Dixie Ave. Hugo Herman Moolenaar Jr., date of birth, 02/12/1983, was arrested and charged with robbery, felony 2nd degree and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

At 1452 hours, officers Ben Sorenson and Brandon Spinks responded to a call of a robbery. Upon arrival, the clerk reported that a male entered the store requesting the store manager’s phone number. The clerk called the store manager and let Hugo speak to her by phone. Hugo became agitated and started yelling at the manager through the phone. Hugo then began yelling threats at the clerk and demanded “everything you got.”

This threat placed the clerk in fear and he complied by handing Hugo an undetermined amount of currency from the register. Hugo then left the store on foot. Officers immediately responded to the scene and Hugo was located in the area of 38th and Walnut. He was taken into custody without incident and subsequently charged with robbery.
