Heavy Police Presence In Odessa Neighborhood Update - 9:30PM 9/9/12

The following is press release from the Odessa Police Department:
Investigators with the Odessa Police Department are investigating the unattended death of a woman found in her home at #12 Opal Circle. At approximately 1425 hours police were dispatched to a check welfare call at this address by a family member. Upon arrival officers entered the residence and discovered a female deceased. It appeared the body had been deceased for awhile.
In order to determine a positive identification, the manner and cause of death, an autopsy will be ordered by the Ector County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Officials with the Odessa Police Department say they found a body inside 2 Opal Circle. They say the body had been there for several weeks.
OPD tells CBS 7 that the body is so badly decomposed that they will have to send it off for an autopsy to determine cause of death. No identity has been released at this time.
They do not suspect foul play at this time, but they are still investigating.
Neighbors say a woman in her mid-50's lived in the home by herself.

Our crews have been talking to neighbors on Opal Circle and they say a woman in her mid-50's lived inside of 2 Opal Circle.
Police have still not released any information at this time.

Our crews say more police have arrived on scene of 2 Opal Circle. Dispatch says they are there on a welfare check call. No other info is available at this time.

ODESSA, TX- CBS 7 Crews say that police arrived on scene 2 hours ago to check the wellfare of a person.
