PSA Released Announcing Proposed Tax Rate Mistake 9/5/12

Big Spring – The Big Spring City Council has released a statement about their proposed tax rate for next year.
At their last city council meeting, it was brought to light that the proposed effective tax rate was wrong.
The true effective tax rate is two cents higher than the published effective tax rate.
If council members adopt the current proposed tax rate, they would be short more than $130,000 in their budget.
A decision will be made about which tax rate to adopt at their next meeting scheduled for September 11th.
