UTPB Mechanical Engineering Program Receives Accreditation 9/4/12

A big announcement by the University of Texas of the Permian Basin about the mechanical engineering program.
The program has received its accreditation by the engineering accreditation commission of ABET.
University officials say they are proud of the new mechanical engineering program.
And students who attended the press conference told us they were excited about continuing to grow and evolve with the program now that its accredited.
"Accreditation" is a voluntary process in which professionals evaluate a program’s curriculum, faculty, facilities, support and other areas.
Accredited programs are required to meet specific goals for the students and graduates and continue to improve based on their assessments.
