Virginia Speech Wraps Up Obama's Pre-Convention Run 9/4/12

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - President Barack Obama says the election in two months is a chance to "close the gap between what America should be and what it is right now."
He says a lot of jobs have been created but there are still more to create. And he says "We've come too far to turn back now."
Speaking at Norfolk State University in Virginia, the president called on students to help him get out the vote.
Today's stop capped off a swing through battleground states that also took Obama to Iowa, Colorado and Ohio. Tomorrow he travels to North Carolina to join the Democratic National Convention that's getting under way today in Charlotte.
Tonight, Obama says he'll be at the White House watching Michelle Obama's convention speech and trying not to cry in front of his daughters.
He says gets "all misty" when his wife speaks.
Obama addresses the convention Thursday night.
