Pecos - The city of Pecos is taking measures to protect citizens from the West Nile virus.
City council members in a recent meeting discussed ways to prevent standing water ponds.
They talked about additional spraying in areas around town where standing water is most likely to be.
Council members also urged the public to check for standing water around their homes.
