Former MCH Board Member Passes 8/31/12

(Odessa)- A longtime Medical Center Hospital Board member and former employee passed away Thursday.

He was 85.

According to Medical Center Hospital, after serving in the United States Air Force for over 22 years, Bill Hetzler was originally hired by Medical Center Hospital in January 1973 as an Electronic Technician.

Bill resigned from MCH in June 1978, but returned in April 1981 to his previous position.

In August 1985, Mr. Hetzler was promoted to Engineering Manager where he served until December 1990 when he retired.

Bill left retirement in February 1991 and was rehired by MCH as a part-time Safety Coordinator in the Engineering
Department.

Mr. Hetzler resigned in March of 1992 to run for the Ector County Hospital District Board of Directors.

Bill faithfully served for 14 years as a member of the ECHD Board from May 1992 to May 2006.

He joined the Children’s Miracle Network Board in 2007 and was a member until his passing.
