MIDLAND, TX - Midland ISD is facing the tough results of a drought on their fields, but some of their fields will be a little greener because the city has allowed them to increase watering to soften the ground, and help pad the dirt with some grass.
Starting September 1st they'll be allowed to water two times a week on baseball and softball fields, and on one practice field on every high school and junior high campus.
Beginning October 15th they're allowed to water six times a week on baseball and softball fields.
Superintendent Dr. Ryder Warren says it is a great cooperation between the city and school district that allows them to consider the safety of children while trying to keep water use at a minimum.
