Midland, TX - It's been said that time is money. That’s why one Midland woman is working to save you time.
Katie Bailey started "Perk. Errands and Events." She will run any errand from waiting in line at the DMV to picking up groceries. She says it's a way to get things done, but save you precious time for the things that really matter.
Bailey is running several errands today for someone else.
"Oh, this is cute!" she says looking through a rack of clothes.
Today she is picking out items for a gift basket.
"Most people just want something that's kind of fun and different," Bailey says. "I love to run errands, I really haven't met anybody else who loves to do that. My slogan is ‘we pick up where you leave off.’ I go grocery shopping or go drop a package off at the post office or pick your dog up at the groomer, a little bit of everything. "
But Perk. quickly turned into much more than errands.
"I've planned birthday party and baby showers, right now I’m working on a wedding."
Bailey says in the booming West Texas economy, people are taking advantage of the service.
"People are busier now than they have ever been and people are wanting to come home at night and not have to go to the grocery store, they want to spend time with their family," she says. “It was hard for me to sit at a desk all day I needed more people interaction and I needed to be going, doing and seeing...that's more my personality!"
So without time to waste Bailey is off to the next stop, because in her case, time really is money.
