Ector County - A coalition dedicated to making Ector County healthier is no more.
According to Ector County Health department officials, the "Ector County Wellness Coalition" has dissolved over time, after being implemented four years ago.
The coalition's goal was to help combat the growing obesity epidemic in the county, and was made up of local health professionals from all different areas.
Officials say the coalition just didn't have enough participation.
Gino Solla, the Ector County Health Department Director, says the obesity numbers in the county continue to grow, and re-instating the Wellness Coalition could be an important step in fighting the problem for future generations..
He says he is willing to help put a new coalition together, for those willing to spearhead the effort, and lead and guide a group.
