Teen Accused in Walker Lumpkin Death Takes Plea Deal 8/28/12

UPDATE 11:20 AM-- Ector County Attorney Cindy Weir-Nutter has just released the following statement about the plea deal:
The juvenile jury trial set to begin today in the courtroom of Judge Jim Bobo was resolved by a plea agreement. The juvenile pled true to manslaughter and was ordered to the Texas Juvenile Justice Department where based upon his behavior he can be held up to age 19. The Judge recommended that the juvenile participate in the Serious Violent Offender Treatment Program. The County Attorney's office believes this was the best possible disposition and is glad that justice was achieved in this tragic case.

Odessa, TX – A 14 year-old boy accused in the death of 4 year-old Walker Lumpkin has accepted a plea deal with the Ector County Attorney’s Office, that’s according to our partners at the Odessa American.
Walker died last July from what medical officials say was blunt force trauma to the head.
