Fiber Optic Cable Cut Between Midland and Andrews 8/21/12

Phone crews have found the cut in the fiber optic cable and have been working to restore it. The cut is said to have gone all the way through the cable. Repairs are expected to last several hours.

Andrews,TX - Andrews officials have confirmed to CBS7 that a fiber optic cable has been cut between Midland and Andrews.
Phone crews are on the scene trying to repair it. Some phone lines and wind streams are down at the moment. There is no word yet on when service will be restored.
Residents in Seminole may also be affected by this outage.
According to officials, the line is owned by AT&T and other telephone companies.This is the third time in the past two years, this problem has arisen.
