If you were out grocery shopping at H-E-B stores were giving out free reusable grocery bags today.
It was all funded by a grant. H-E-B stores and Keep Odessa Beautiful were giving out free reusable grocery bags today. Each family received two bags. H-E-B representatives say they want to encourage the community to help the environment by using the environmentally friendly bags.
“We are just trying to change the paradigm. To get people to use the reusable bags and save which is helpful to the environment.” Says Lennerd Byrd, Board President at Keep Odessa Beautiful.
H-E-B tells us one reusable bag can save up to 4 plastic bags from going into the landfill every time it’s used.
