(Monahans)- A Monahans woman who was accused of mistreating a disabled veteran at the Best Western in Monahans is no longer employed with the hotel.
CBS 7 received a statement from the hotel Sunday night that stated: "The Best Western Monahans Inn and Suites has concluded its review of the matter and the individual involved is no longer employed by the property. As a dedicated member of the Monahans community, we remain committed to providing our guests with only the highest levels of customer service."
Staff Sergeant Chad Staples said he stayed in the hotel earlier this month and was forced to go down three flights of stairs with his bags and wheelchair after a power outage shut down the elevator.
Staples claimed he called the front desk and was laughed at when asking for help.
