Permian Field House Vandalized 8/11/12

CBS 7 News
August 11, 2012

ODESSA, TX - It was a shocking discovery today at the Permian High School field house.

The volleyball team arrived at about 6:30 this morning for a tournament in Monahans, when they found the building had been broken into and vandalized.

Football Coach Gary Gaines tells us the fire extinguishers had been sprayed all over the gym, and the girls training whirlpool was left on slightly flooding that room.

The basketball offices, volleyball office, baseball room and boys track room were all broken into leaving the rooms cluttered and disheveled.

Coach Gains believes someone must have had a key to get in, and they are still trying to find out why the alarm system never went off.

He said it's hard to tell if anything was stolen at this point, but coaches will continue to clean up and go through their facilities.

Odessa Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information that leads to the arrest of individuals involved.

Call them at (432) 333-TIPS. You will remain anonymous.

Police continue their investigation.
