NOTREES, TX – A unique project is moving forward that will store wind power in west Texas. Duke Energy and Xtreme Power of Kyle, Texas are working on a $44 million wind battery project that will store electricity during off peak times. According to the Odessa Economic Development Corporation, this is the largest project of its kind in the world, the batter will store 36 megawatts, the next largest battery in the nation stores 1 megawatts in Hawaii.
