Family Needs Surgery Funds But Say They Are Being Taken Advantage Of. 8/04/12

Odessa -- An Odessa family is protesting in front of an Odessa bar. Three-year-old Jubilee Davis is in need of mouth surgery. We are told her parents teamed up with the Coyote Bar on West County Road in Odessa to raise money for their daughters operation only to be taken advantage of.
After the fundraiser at the bar, they were given only one thousand dollars and were told they will not see any more money.
Still the parents of the little girl tell us the bar owner is continuing with the weekend fundraiser and pocketing the cash.
“We are raising the money for her, says Brandon Davis the father of three year old. Davis is suffering from an illness called Periodontitis. We are told that is illness that can send bacteria into the blood stream and kill a person.
“This is my daughter. They are basically taking advantage of us and we are not going to get anything for her,” added Davis.
The owner of the bar wouldn’t go on camera but tells us that they partnered with the family on the fundraiser but decided to split ways. Davis’ parents are desperate need of funds to cure their daughter’s illness. Anyone wanting to help can call 212-7861.
