Free Women's Self Defense Class 8/2/12

MIDLAND, TX – 8/02/2012- The Crime Prevention Unit of the Midland Police Department will be hosting a Women's Self Defense class aimed at young women, students, and others who would like to improve their personal safety. This is the third consecutive year this program is being offered. The classes will begin on August 9th, end August 28th, and meet twice weekly for two to three hours. Classes will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm till approximately 8:30pm. The first meeting will be at the Midland Police Department at 601 North Loraine. The first night will be classroom based, with gym based activity thereafter, all focusing on personal safety techniques. Students will be taught proper punching, kicking, and strikes while practicing survival through multiple scenarios. The class is only open to 16 students and will be taken on a first come, first served basis.
