MIDLAND, TX – 7/30/2012 – National Night Out 2012 will be on Tuesday, August 7, beginning at 5:30 PM. After winning 13 national awards, The City of Midland aims to win yet another one this year, but the focus remains on crime reduction and community involvement.
National Night Out is a series of city-wide, police sanctioned, ‘neighborhood gatherings’ that invite citizen & police cooperation while sending a message to would-be criminals that Midland works together to fight crime.
Citizens are encouraged to BBQ, host lawn parties, and invite their neighbors over. Police officers will be making the rounds between homes to meet, greet, and answer questions. It’s the perfect opportunity to get to know your neighbors and Midland officers!

Deadline for entry is August 3, at 5:00 pm.
NNO is designed to (1) heighten crime prevention awareness; (2) generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; (3) strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community relations; and (4) send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The Kick-off party for National Night Out will be at Meadow Park 4800 Spring Meadow 79705 at 5:30 PM. All are invited to attend, free of charge.
