Big Spring, TX - A burn ban has been put into place in Howard County.

Howard County Commissioners voted this morning in the commissioners court meeting to adopt the ban.

The ban is in place for 90 days.

If you do burn anything, it must covered with a mesh cover/screen so that embers do not get out.

If you are caught burning illegally inside the county, you can face a fine up to $500. If you are burning anything and it starts a fire, you will be fined an additional $500.
