You may have heard of the term "if you don't like west Texas weather, just wait 15 minutes." Well West Texans are in for a change.
National weather service meteorologists report that we are moving from a "La Nina" weather pattern into an "El Nino" pattern.
La Nina patterns bring hot dry weather and El Nino patterns bring on the rain.
As our chief meteorologist explains, this changing patter will be a welcomed sight.
“Our weather models show that we are definitely moving toward an El Nino weather pattern,” Greg Morgan, CBS 7 chief meteorologist said. “It’s been a pleasant change to put rain in our 7-day forecasts as opposed to the weeks of triple digit temperatures we saw last year at this time.”
Morgan says we could see some significant changes in the next six to eight months.
