Friends of 20-year-old Midland Man Killed In Wreck Raise Money For His Funeral 7/29/12

Midland, TX – Today friends of 20-year-old of Mark Anthony Varela hosted a bake sale to raise funds for his funeral. Varela died near highway 191 and Loop 250 yesterday.
“I just feel like I’m in a dream. I just don’t want to believe it. I feel like he’s going to be here any second,” stated his long time friend Cory Granado.
Police stated that Varela was heading northbound, in the concrete landscape area South of 191 under the overpass for Loop 250. They stated that he ended up upside down in the eastbound lanes and was hit by a truck, killing him on impact.
“He was really outgoing and energetic. He was selfless. He always helped his mother and his sister,” said close friend Yaneri Carrasco.
The bake sale was in front of Kid Town Day Care at 1602 N. Big Spring. For those who want to donate call (432) 661-1533. All proceeds will go to his funeral .
