MIDLAND, TX – As development booms in the Basin Oncor says they’ve expanded their crews and operations tremendously to meet the new demands of customers.
Oncor Spokesperson Sue Mercer tells CBS 7 that under normal conditions they typically have two overhead crews that consist of five to six people. They have now had to hire on 17 extra crews.
They are also bringing in crews from the Sweetwater area to supplement the workload.
Mercer says their growing customer base includes oil field work, residential subdivisions, retail and industrial.
She says they’ve seen some backlog with all the work requested, but they have addressed the issue by bringing in all the additional crews, even bringing employees out of retirement.
