Odessa - A West Texas University is preparing to launch a new degree program.
The University of Texas Permian Basin could soon be offering a new Bachelor's of Science in Nursing this fall.
Area hospitals say this should help them fill much needed nursing positions and allow their current nurses to seek higher education locally.
Midland Memorial Hospital and Medical Center Hospital both say they are always seeking nurses with the highest possible education.
