Big Spring Water Restrictions Reminder 7/19/12

Big Spring, TX - The city of Big Spring would like to remind the people of Big Spring what the current water restrictions are.
In order to achieve a 28% reduction in water usage, the City of Big Spring has adopted the following mandatory restrictions which are in effect as of Sunday, April 1, 2012.
... LAWN WATERING SCHEDULE
Residential customers may water on the following schedule ONLY:
Addresses that end in odd numbers may water on Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
(ie: addresses ending in 1, 3, 5, 7, 9)
Addresses that end in even numbers may water on Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
(ie: addresses ending in 0, 2, 4, 6, 8)
Commercial customers may water on Wednesdays from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
**Wasting of water is strictly prohibited at all times.
ADDITIONAL RESTRICTIONS
Vehicles can only be washed at commercial (including mobile) car wash establishments.
Wading pools, fish ponds, and fountains can be filled during the allotted watering schedule only.
Swimming pools and Jacuzzis can be filled between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. only.
No outside watering is allowed except on the days and times designated above, EXCEPT potted plants and flowerbeds can be watered on any day between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. using a watering can of 5 gallons or less. (No water hoses.)
Washing of houses, decks, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, etc. is strictly prohibited.
Citations WILL BE ISSUED for violations of these restrictions.

According to the CRMWD weekly report, Big Spring's water usage is slightly up from last week at nearly 3.7 million gallons a day. Last weeks average was 3.5 million gallons.
