A West Texas member of our military has been recognized by General John R. Allen for his achievements in Afghanistan.
Marine General Allen, commander of the International Security Assistance Force, presented his coin to Specialist Dallas Davidson of Fort Stockton on July 12th.
Spc. Davidson is part of Security Force Assistance Team 8 and was recognized for his efforts advising the Afghan Border Police during Operation Southern Strike II.
Captain Matt Gilroy, personnel officer for the 117th Infantry told reporters, "During a search of a village by the ABP, their commander lost control of his element as it was split into two groups. Spc. Davidson was able to get the commander's subordinate to a U.S. Radio and coordinate with an interpreter, allowing the ABP commander to control his men through the mentorship team, enabling the mission to continue."
