Sunny and Hot Today 7/13/12
Friday Morning Weather Update
Greg Morgan – Chief Meteorologist
Sunny to mostly sunny skies are expected across West Texas today. Only a few clouds will develop or drift by as high pressure builds into the region. Temperatures will warm into the mid and maybe even the upper 90’s for the Permian Basin and Trans Pecos this afternoon. Winds will be out of the east at 5-10mph. The easterly component to the winds will allow for surface moisture to remain in place. As such, high humidity can be expected and the day might be a bit muggy. Saturday will be a carbon copy of today.
Clouds will increase a bit over the region on Sunday. This trend will continue into early next week. Temperatures will still remain in the 90’s through Wednesday. It appears that thunderstorm chances will be low until Thursday.
