Very hot weather will be returning to West Texas this coming week.
A ridge of high pressure in the upper atmosphere is setting up camp over our part of the world. What this means for West Texas and southeast New Mexico is twofold: first, lots of sunshine, and second, a serious lack of moisture. When you put those two factors together we will see clear skies and lots of sunshine for several days. We will also see temperatures considerably above average, running in the triple digits for several days. Rain is, unfortuanately, out of the picture for the same time period.
