Lubbock, TX – Many oilfield workers are heading north to Lubbock because of the housing shortage in the Midland/Odessa area.
The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce says they are seeing at least 20 percent increase of people choosing to live in the city.
Also, hotels on the out skirt of the city are seeing more oilfield employees staying for weeks at a time.
The unemployment rate in Lubbock, TX, is 5.80%, with job growth of -0.54%. Future job growth over the next ten years is predicted to be 33.12%.
