Midland DPS Helicopter Searches for Missing Plane 02/21/12

UPDATE 2:29 PM: Shackelford County Sheriff Ed Miller has officially identified the victims of Monday's plane crash near Albany as Taylor County residents Dale "Scooter" Phillips and Amy Clay.

Both were found dead at the scene.

UPDATE 11:20 AM: According to KTAB, the Civil Air Patrol has located the missing airplane.

The Shackelford County Sheriff's Office, Department of Public Safety, local fire departments and Texas Wing, Civil Air Patrol found the missing aircraft near Casey Lake, just north of Albany.

A Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter out of Midland is assisting in the search for a missing plane that disappeared near Albany.

According to the Associated Press the plane left Abilene headed for Norman, Oklahoma when it vanished from radar and became unreachable by radio around 7:30 p.m. Monday evening.

The FAA currently has no additional information on the plane and has no records to indicate the number of passengers aboard. The single-engine plane is registered to Baga Air Inc. of Wilmington, Delaware. There are no public phone listings for the company.
