Midland, Texas - Jordan grew up tumbling around at the Alpha Cheer and Dance Company owned by his mother.
But it was when he would dance that he says he felt the most alive.
26-year-old Jordan Johnson is living his dream.
Most recently, dancing on national television at the American Music Awards.
“It's something I've wanted so, so, so long,” says Jordan.
But the journey from his mother’s dance and cheer studio to being a professional dancer hasn't come without struggle.
“Many people have told me dancing is not a reality that you can't just dance and to me I never saw it that way. I know I can do this.”
Saying “I will” and “I can” is what drives his determination.
“Being rejected for not looking right or not being beautiful or not fitting the part or not being strong enough or being masculine enough. When they say tough skin it's like and under-statement. You have to be a tin box or a metal human they take stabs at you and you can't take it personally.”
But it's where he finds his strength that is special.
“My strength everyday comes alot from my sister. She's handicapped. Alot of my motivation my inspiration is for her. I have no choice. I have to make it because I want to take care of Charlie. I don't want the state or someone else taking care of my sister. I want to take care of my family and be the one that makes it all happen.”
Jordan says some kids play soccer. Others like to run and play. He has always loved to dance.
“For me, the AMA's and dancing with Omarian, that it itself is very surreal to me. “
Jordan is bursting out on the scene and says he can't wait to dance his way to the top.
And has this for anyone looking to follow his or her dream.
“Chase it...chase it...”
Jordan is now living in la full time and will be on tour with Omarion this spring.
He will also be using his acrobatic skills for an upcoming audition for a lead in a Vegas Cirque du Soleil show and says this is just the beginning.
