Man Dies After Police Chase, Shooting 11/27/09

DALLAS (AP) - Authorities say a man who led police on a long chase was fatally shot after his pickup truck slammed into a tree and he pulled out a gun during a confrontation with officers.
The chase started in the suburb of Garland and continued until the wreck off Intestate 30 in Dallas. Police say the suspect died at the scene.
Dallas detectives are investigating the shooting and Garland Police are conducting an internal affairs investigation. Two Garland officers will be placed on paid administrative leave.
