PEARLAND, Texas (AP) - A bronze statue of a child has been stolen from a Houston-area park and police want to know if it was swiped for the price of the metal.
Police in Pearland say the statue is missing from Centennial Park.
The 90-pound statue, of a girl perched atop a rock, was manufactured at a cost of $3,000.
Police believe whoever took the bronze artwork needed a truck to move it.
Lt. Onesimo (oh-NES'-ee-moh) Lopez says investigators aren't sure if the statue was taken as a prank or if it was stolen for the metal.
The statue was reported missing Nov. 16 by a parks worker.
Pearland is about 15 miles south of Houston.
