6-Year-Old Left Behind After Her Entire Family is Killed 11/24/09

Odessa, TX - 6-year-old Daisy Martinez doesn't know it, but she's a survivor.
"It hasn't really sunk in yet, it's going to take a while," said her adult cousin, Ana Nieto.
This weekend her parents and two baby brothers were all killed by poisonous gas in their own home.
"She survived because she was with her grandma on her mom's side of the family and that's why she's alive. If not, she would be with them too," said her cousin Leticia Morales
Her grandparents, aunts and uncles are struggling with how to break the news.
How do you tell a six year old her family is gone?
"She's missing her mom and dad already. We've told her they're gone. I mean it's really hard, we can't explain it," said Morales.
What goes without explaining is how tightly this family sticks together.
"We're just holding on to each other as we speak, we're just holding on to her," said Nieto.
Holding on to the only living legacy of a family, taken too soon.
"Both of her grandmothers are with her and she has all of us together
and we're going to protect her," said Morales.
