New Howard County Commissioners Court Open 11/23/09

Howard County Commissioners christened a brand new commissioner's court this morning.
Court moved from the old cramped 2nd floor to a spacious and more beautiful 3rd floor room.
The old room was a former courtroom years ago and was used for functions and for voting in the courthouse.
Thew new room features more area for commissioners and others to meet as well as pictures depicting Big Spring's present and past.
The idea was first brought up by Commissioner Jimmie Long and his wife.
The money to pay for the remodeling came from a budget surplus.
