2 Big Spring Men in Jail On Slew of Charges 11/19/09

The following is the full media release from Howard County Sheriff Stan Parker:


On Wednesday November 18, 2009 at approximately 9:49pm Howard County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a call of Vehicle Burglaries at the Out Yonder Bar, 5620 E. IS-20.

It was reported the suspects were leaving the scene in a Gold Chevrolet Pickup east bound on IS-20. While searching for the vehicle dispatch received a call that a vehicle had struck a mail box, phone junction box and dumpster on West Robinson Road.

Deputies with the HCSO and Officers with the Big Spring Police Department arrived and found a Gold Chevrolet truck attempting to leave the scene after striking the objects, the vehicle was stuck as Officers and Deputies approached the vehicle identifying themselves as Peace Officers, the driver attempted to flee in the vehicle. As Law Enforcement attempted to remove the occupants from the vehicle the driver accelerated attempting to free the vehicle placing officers in danger.

Officers were forced to break the driver’s side window forcefully removing the driver from the vehicle before anyone was seriously harmed. The passenger in the vehicle was ordered out of the vehicle and he exited armed with a knife. Officers struggled with the subject and disarmed him. The vehicle was then discovered to have just been stolen from the Out Yonder Bar and property from 5 vehicle burglaries was found in the stolen vehicle. The Suspects were identified as:



Driver- Miguel Enriquez Juarez 21 years old from Big Spring

Passenger- Joe Luis Rodriquez 17 years old from Big Spring

Both suspects were charged with:

· Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle

· 4 counts of Burglary of a Vehicle

· Aggravated Assault of Public Servant
