Insurance Business Robbed at Gunpoint - 3rd Robbery in Last Month 11/10/09

West Odessa, Texas -

Beeson Insurance office in West Odessa was robbed Tuesday afternoon at gunpoint leaving employees terrified and wondering if it’s a serial crime.

That’s because it marks the third insurance business “hold up” in the last month in Odessa.

The owner and employees at Beeson Insurance say they’ll never forget the gun that was pointed at their faces.

It’s the latest in an insurance robbery spree that the owner believes is connected.

Beeson Insurance is a small West Odessa operation where friendly customer service is a priority. That's how they treated a man Tuesday afternoon until he pulled out a gun and demanded all their money.

"He said I'll shoot you. He said I know where it is. Pull it out", says Brenda Bartholomae.

She had a gun to her chest a definite first in her lifetime. But this wasn't an isolated robbery. It marked the third since October 23rd, when an Odessa All State Agency was hit and then a Fred Loya Office, on November 5th.

"First thing that entered my mind was, God if you're here just let us all be OK. Don't let him shoot", says Bartholomae.

Fortunately the man didn't pull the trigger. Based on a surveillance photo from one of the other robberies, owner, Wendy Beeson believes the same man struck again.

"Very terrified, very, very terrified and I knew with the economy and what's going on... I foresaw it happening. Now we've just got to take more preventative measures to prevent his from happening in the future", says Beeson.

The Ector Co. Sheriff's Office and Odessa Police Department are unable to confirm whether it is the same man striking insurance businesses. Despite the fright of her life, Brenda's not taking a vacation.

"Yeah I'll be here in the morning. God willing!", she says.

Beeson credits their faith as an insurance policy of its own.

"No one was hurt. We're just thankful god blessed us with our lives".
