Sheriff's Office Investigating Deaths of Married Couple in Gardendale 11/6/09

Odessa, Texas - The Ector County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of two individuals in Gardendale. On November 5, 2009, at 2:37pm the Sheriff's Office received a call of a possible suicide attempt in the 14000 block of Western in Gardendale. The Sheriff's Office responded and family members advised that there were two deceased individuals in the residence.
The names of the deceased are:
•Lonnie Ray Cooper - a 57 year old white male
•Cindy Jennings Cooper - a 58 year old white female, wife of Lonnie Ray Cooper
Both apparently died as a result of gunshot wounds. A weapon was recovered at the scene and at this time it is believed to be the weapon used.
An autopsy has been ordered on both deceased individuals.
The investigation continues.
