Glasscock County Rains Putting Farmers Farther Behind 10/22/09

ST. LAWRENCE - Yesterday's rains in the Eastern Basin were welcomed by many but exasperated an already tough situation in southern Glasscock County.
Glasscock County CO-OP General Manager Jeff Turner tells CBS 7 News about a half inch of rain fell in St. Lawrence yesterday which was hardest hit by the storms on October 8.
The rains did not cause any flooding because it fell slowly enough over several hours.
Turner did say that harvesters trying to salvage whatever cotton survived the severe weather wont be able to do any more work for about 3 or 4 days.
Hail decimated about 20 percent of the cotton crops in Glasscock County.
