First Step in Criminal Trial Underway in Former Winker County Nurses Case 10/21/09

Kermit, Texas - The stage is set for the criminal trial for two Winkler County nurses after a pre-trial hearing today in Kermit.
Both prosecution and defense met with Judge Rex and had a final chance to file any pre-trial motions.
Winkler County is prosecuting former nurses Anne Mitchell and Vicki Galle for allegedly misusing official information for the purpose of harassment.
Both state and national nursing associations are standing behind the nurses, accusing the county of retaliating against legal whistle blowing.
The criminal trial is set to begin November 3rd at the Winkler County Courthouse.
