Big Spring - Yesterday's plea deal by Brian Carlson in a Martin County murder marks the 3rd accused murderer to end up behind bars in the 118th District Court Jurisdiction.
Carlson received 30 years for the shooting death of a man last November.
Back in June Rodney Mason was found guilty of the 2008 stabbing death of an 18 year old in Glasscock County and Tommy Gutierrez pled guilty to shooting his wife to death in Big Spring.
The 118th is comprised of Glasscock, Martin and Howard Counties and District Attorney Hardy Wilkerson says the combined efforts of authorities in those 3 counties plus Midland helped put those criminals behind bars.
"We've been very pleased with the efforts of law enforcement. Anytime you can successfully resolve those cases so that somebody who causes the death of another has a certainty of punishment, and a severity of punishment, you feel that justice is going to be served in that case and that's what you strive for."
There is one more murder case unresolved as Christopher Olivarez is awaiting trial for the May 30 shooting death of 16-year-old Justin Hernandez.
