Midland - The Midland County Commissioners have agreed to install stop signs at 16 intersections in the soon to be annexed Windowpane neighborhood just north of the south-side Wal-Mart.
Residents told commissioners that motorists going to and from the Wal-Mart store have been speeding through their neighborhoods, presenting a danger to children and residents backing out of their driveways.
The signs will be installed along Baird, Fort Worth, and Terrell streets.
Commissioner Luis Sanchez says county workers will install the stop signs, but the city of Midland will pay for them.
The area of about 100 households will be annexed into the city sometime next month.
